CA supports youth swim teams and leagues, including the Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL), open to swimmers ages 18 and younger of all ability levels, as well as the Columbia Clippers, which competes in the largest competitive swim program in Maryland. See below for more information.
The Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL) is a summer recreational swim league with 14 swim teams located throughout the Columbia, Ellicott City, and Clarksville areas.
CNSL is open to swimmers ages 18 and younger of all ability levels. There are no tryouts required, though swimmers younger than age 10 must be able to swim the length of one pool and swimmers age 11 and up must be able to swim two lengths of the pool. There are 14 swim teams located throughout the Columbia, Ellicott City and Clarksville areas.
CA provides coaches, facilities, and a framework for CNSL participants to improve swimming abilities, develop good sportsmanship, and test performance in actual competition as part of a team in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Columbia Aquatics Association is a registered USA Swimming Club and a member of the Maryland Local Swim Committee. With over 300 team members, swimmers are split into various Practice Groups based on a combination of ability and age. Team members ages 6-19 will improve stroke mechanics, build endurance, excel in competition…and, of course, have fun! Clippers are admitted through a competitive tryout process. The upcoming competition season will run from September 2021 to July 2022, and tryouts for the team will be held on July 10 and July 24 from 1-4 pm, You must register for a tryout session.

Clippers Swim Clinic
For children ages 6-18 who have either one or more years of summer league experience or have full knowledge of freestyle and backstroke. Participants will have the opportunity to learn or improve basic swimming skills and stroke mechanics from Clippers coaches. Participation is not a guarantee that a swimmer will be eligible to join a year-round competitive swim team.
Registration opens Monday, February 22nd for the next session to be held from April 10-June 12 (no practice on May 30). The clinic is held on Saturday nights at 7-8pm or 8-9pm at Columbia Swim Center.

Columbia Masters is an adult-oriented swim program combining instruction with competitive training. Columbia Masters is great for athletes, competitive swimmers and fitness swimmers with dedicated lanes and professional coaching at every practice.
All participants must be able to swim a mile in about 30 minutes and become USMS member (fee extra), which can be done online at http://www.usms.org/reg/register.php; our club code is COLU.

At this time, we are only offering practices on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30-7am and 10:15-11:30am and Saturdays from 6:00-6:55am. Practices for all levels will be held in the Program Pool at Columbia Swim Center.
